Louise Treadwell Tracy created and completed a project on behalf of children with deafness. She had a son with this special need. A doctor informed her that there was nothing medical intervention could do and that she should bring her son John when he completed 5 years. Louise felt this would be a loss of valuable time. With the aim of helping her son, she developed a method of teaching lip reading in harmony with a system of receptive language combined with expressive language – “We are talking about different sides of the same coin,” she comments. Louise accomplished this sensitive work with her subtle intelligence and loving maternal manner. She notes: “The child is not just reading lip movements, but reading meanings”.

Raul de Souza is considered by “Down Beat” (NYC Magazine), “Rolling Stones” and
the highly considered American trombone player Frank Rosolino, as the greatest trombone player in the world. Moreover Raul was declared an honorary citizen of Atlanta, Georgia.
Raul inflames the whole room with a succession of velvety sharp tones peppered with staccatos. You could think of that musical fuss made by an anum, a maritaca, or a siriema (noisy birds). The audience is transported. As a soloist, he is one of the greatest ever produced by Brazil.
